St John’s Year 8 boys are County Durham Level 3 Sportshall Athletics Champions. 29th March at the Louisa Centre, Stanley.




The Year 7 Netball Team won 6 games and drew 1 resulting in 1st place in the South West Durham Netball Tournament.
They were outstanding and played so well together as a team.



St John's Handball team had their first ever game beating Biddick Academy 12-4. The group have only been playing the sport since September and were exceptional on the night showing fantastic team spirit.

Year 8 Boys rugby team won the Durham County Plate without losing a single game. Congratulations to all the boys involved!

Outstanding performances tonight by both the Year 7 boys and girls teams at their football tournament at Parkside.

Year 7 girls won the tournament and are now unbeaten in 5 games, qualifying for the next tournament against other schools in the region.

Year 7 boys were runners up, winning 4 games out of 5 within the tournament.

The U15 cricket team travelled to Barnsley on Tuesday 10 July for the Northern England 8-a-side competition. We won the event after a very tense 'super over' in the final. The boys have been nominated to take part in this event twice now, by the Durham Cricket board - winning the event both times.
It is a fantastic achievement.




Sports sessions and holiday activities for girls aged 11-18 years old. The offer is open to any young women in any locality but is held at Newton Aycliffe leisure centre every Monday from 7pm-8:30pm. The sessions are run by professional sports coaches and youth workers.
