    • Students need school libraries!
    Every student deserves a well-resourced and easily accessible library. The tie between libraries and academic success is well documented. It’s been proven that reading for pleasure is the single most important indicator of a child’s future success.

    Our new school library online catalogue, Accessit, will further support our students in their reading for pleasure journey and the discovery of great books.

    Using Accessit, students can now view our extensive library catalogue, their current loans, reserve books and see news and events happening in the LRC.

    The National Shelf Service: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCPUIqlJM0aieXdq-LxKDvWA CILIP, the UK's library and information association, has launched the National Shelf Service, a new daily YouTube broadcast featuring book recommendations from professional librarians. The National Shelf Service will feature one librarian and one book recommendation each day. The broadcasts will be on every weekday at 11 a.m.

    “Booked Potato” Competition

    For World Book Day this year instead of dressing yourself up, we are inviting you to dress a potato as a character from a book. Or if you are feeling really adventurous, create a scene from a book using potatoes!

    Year 7 students will have the opportunity to create their Booked Potatoes together in their online lesson with Miss Heads, during the week commencing 1 March, so get your materials ready!
