International Space and Language Challenge
On Thursday 23 January ten County Durham schools were set the challenging task of pitching an out-of-this-world business idea in a foreign language, as part of a special space themed
learning day. Working alongside astrophysicists from Durham University, the Year 10 pupils learned about zero gravity orbits and were tasked with building a prototype of an international space hotel then presented their ideas in French or Spanish.
The year 10 pupils also had the opportunity to speak to Durham university students who are currently studying languages or astronomy as well as learn some Russian on the day too.
St John's French and Spanish teams worked extremely well on the task... so well that our Spanish team were the overall winners on the day!
Well done to the nine Year 10 students that participated in the event.
