Year 11 Virtual Progress Evening - Online Appointment Booking

Dear Parent/Carer

Year 11 Virtual Progress Evening - Online Appointment Booking

I would like to invite you to attend our Virtual Progress Evening on 22 March, 2021. This is an important evening and provides you with an opportunity to discuss your child’s progress and ways in which we can work together to ensure your child reaches their full potential.

The school has introduced a new intuitive and easy to use online appointment booking system. This allows you to choose your own appointment times with teachers and you will receive an email confirming your appointments.

Appointments can be made from 12 March and the window to do this will close on 22 March at 1:00pm. Should you wish to make any changes after this date please contact the school office.

Please visit https://stjohnsrc.schoolcloud.co.uk to book your appointments. (A short guide on how to add appointments is included with this letter.) Login with the following information:

Child's First Name
Child’s Surname
(Registration Class) / (Tutor Group) / (Date of Birth)

If you do not have access to the internet, please contact the school office who will be happy to add appointments on your behalf.

As you are aware, the process for Centre Assessed Grades is currently underway in our school and across the Trust. These grades will be derived from a range of assessment evidence that includes teacher judgement, mock exams and summative assessments. Students will be provided with suitable supporting materials, including revision lists, to aid revision for all subjects for their mocks and summative assessments.

It is important that discussion on progress evening focuses on your child’s strengths and areas for improvement in each subject. Staff have been instructed not to share specific grades with you as this may conflict with the grading and moderation process. Please be reassured that all secondary schools in the Trust are working together to ensure that Centre Assessed Grades are a true reflection of a student's ability. In the meantime, students should revise thoroughly for their mock exams which will take place in school on the week commencing 12 April.

Yours sincerely

Gavin McIntyre
Deputy Headteacher
