House Art Competition 2020

We are pleased to officially announce the winners of this year's House Art Competition. The exhibition, which was based on the theme of "Hope", was moved online this year due to Covid restrictions and was a fantastic showcase of the artistic talents of our students. In the early stages of the competition we received hundreds of entries from across all key stages, with a huge variety in terms of media and interpretation. Semi-finalists' work was then exhibited online, where students, staff and members of the public were able to vote for the winners.

The KS3 prize goes to year 7 student Niamh Goulburn, of Wilfred House, for her coloured pen drawing in which she saw hope in the lockdown giving us all more time. Niamh received watercolour markers and watercolour pencils for her fantastic efforts. We hope she will put them to good use creating more amazing artwork.

The KS4 prize goes to year 9 GCSE Photography student David Bentley, of Bede House, for his beautiful image of the Sun's rays reaching the camera through the trees. David's prize is a book on smart phone photography, which we hope will assist him in his studies.

And finally, the KS5 prize goes to the extraordinarily talented year 12 A-Level Art student Sadie Scott-Morris, of Bede House, whose photo-realistic drawings impressed the judges and the public alike. Sadie received high-quality sketching materials and toned paper. We look forward to seeing what she will produce next!

A huge thank you to everyone who got involved in this year's competition, including those of you who took the time to view the online exhibition and vote. We are exceptionally proud of all of the talented and creative students who entered and look forward to seeing what they do for next year's competition.
