September 2011

On the hottest 29th September since 1853, the squad of 13 (unlucky for some) made their way to King James on an even hotter minibus. Unfortunately, due to it being year 6 open evening (and his birthday) the day before, Mr Swindells forgot the beloved Jaffa Cakes and water bottles. This could easily have been an excuse for the champions not to perform, but like true champions, St John's blew the opposition away with two early goals.

The long awaited return of school football finally arrived for the year 8 team. Following a brilliant turnout at the trial session, the squad for Wolsingham away was chosen. After much deliberation the managers decided on a 4-3-3 formation.

Dear Parent/Carer

We would like to welcome new parents/carers to St John's as well as those of you who already have children attending the school. Over the summer we celebrated fantastic exam results with our Year 11 students achieving 87% 5 or more A*-C grades and 68% including Maths and English. Our A levels results were also the best ever with 35% achieving A*and A grades. These students are now preparing to take up their places at university.

Year 6 pupils and their families are warmly invited to our Open Evening.
