i must say i like the current uniform its smart and identifies the school straight away, the new uniform will not do this

Why are children not allowed to have this certain hair colour or no nail varnish. Most of the teachers have dyed hair and wear nail varnish for school so why can't the children. Some of the staff are setting a bad influence on the children
i think that the school uniform is amazingi really like the coloure maroon is awesome thankyou for chosing this as it wil make our school look nicer thanku

Can you let us have some qualitive and quantative results from the uniform consultation please. The comments on this site suggest it is unwelcome and unpopular. Most Parents really can't afford this at the moment.
Maroon!! awful colour, If you wanted to smarten the uniform you should of just chose black. Maroon is a scruffy colour. I could name a hundred people and more who didn't want maroon, and we voted the results said black was more popular so why have we got maroon.?
The school are money grabbing again, they're worse than man utd changing their strip every season, they will have a home and away uniform next year. Is it not enough that they have posters of zac effrons new film all around the school???
I am current student at the 6th form. Read through the comments about the uniform and agree with them all. Got a younger brother at the school and having to purchase a whole set of uniform in the economic state is rediculous. And was curious as to why different sizes are different prices??? no clothes retailers ever do this?? is this even legal?? Wonder if anyone reads or responds to these comments?
I am writing an official complaint that St. John's is dispicable. I mean, how on earth would a hair style or colour, nail varnish, studs ect, affect the way of how one works or other around them. Oneself might feel comfortable in nail varnish ect.
I AM ANNOYED AT THE FACT MY DAUGHTER'S STUDY HAS BEEN CHANGED TO A LATER DATE. THIS HAS AFFECTED HER BECAUSE I KNOW FINE WELL SHE GETS DISTRACTED IN CLASS AND I AM SURE OTHERS WOULD AGREE. ALSO MY DAUGHTER DOES STUDY AT HOME AND WOULD BENEFIT FROM DOING SO. I AM FURIOUS BY THIS SO THEREFORE SHE WILL NOT BE ATTENDING SCHOOL AFTER THE 15TH OF MAY!

The maroon blazers are uneeded, why does the pupils need a new uniform. If you wanted too make the uniform smater than you should have just kept the same uniform and just added a black blazer. in addition, the uniform is totaly different from the last one and is unreconisable for the school-St.Johns. The school should of just decided on the grey tanktop because it is more like the older uniform.

hi i have just bought some new uniform and now i have got this letter saying i need to get some more for september i think it is nice but i do not have that much money and i am sure alot of parents feel the same especialy in this recesion
I agree with the comment of "Fed up Mum" - are the staff/school governers not aware of the current economic climate? Why is a change required and if it is "needed" can it not be delayed by a year?
This would allow, hopefully, for the current climate to improve.
Hey, I'm thinking of coming to St Johns sixth form as i was told it was quite good, but i'm was woudering if you do open days or if i could make an appointment to come have a tour of the school. I dont know anyone who attends the school either so im not off to a good start, any ideas ? ? xx
I have a son in year 7 who was bought full new school uniform for September. I also have a son in year 10 and therefore some items of uniform he has outgrown which his younger brother could make use of in the future. At the moment new school uniforms would be an unwelcome expense for myself and many other families.
Also I feel that blazers whilst smart are not practical as they are neither waterproof nor warm.
I like the idea of tank tops, mainly for the summer, but my feelings about changing the colour are yes to black trousers or skirts. I found it difficult to find mid grey, so black would be alot easier to find. I went to St Johns and it was and still is grey jumpers and I think it should stop grey as the school is known for this and plus there are no other school in B/A with it. Oh and as for blazers, if they do come back then it should be black. Thank you.
i think the trank tops are nice but our parents have just spent loads of money on uniform in september and new ones for this septrember i think it silly changing uniform i think its nice how it is and girls should be allowed to wear cardigans
The new uniform is nice but we have just bought all new in September and this is going to be more expense that we dont need. Most parents at the minute do not have the money to buy new ones.What about parents who have more than a few children how will they be able to afford this. Will you be giving discounts on double or more items bought. This would help parents.

Also we think the change is a good idea as the uniform we have now is plain and boring!! BRING ON THE UNIFORM!!!!!

Yooh need more pics of diffrent forms and students and loads of the diffrent and new teachers you should have more info of the diffrent subjects and all of the classrooms (pics lol):P

we dont realy like the new uniform apart from the tank tops,tey look very smart and would look different from all the other schools that are wearing the boring old uniforms.And because blazres are FAR to expencive! x
Having just spent over �100 on a uniform in September, I am sad to hear that the uniform will be changing in September.
Is the school not aware that the country has a credit crunch at the moment and most families have better things to spend money on than a pointless change of uniform.
Yeah i think that you should put more pictures in and colours and make bright and jazzy for future kids that are coming to the school so that they can look at the teachers and add pictures of the classrooms
as i have just moved up to year8 i just want to say this site has not changed at all apart from the pictures. but i think you should make it more coulorful.With more photos of the diffrent rooms and info you provied.

I think this site is good :) but we need more pictures of teachers and even maybe past head teachers. Or even the first photograph took of all the teachers who first started this school.
the website has never changed even though th school has been modernised, i thinkthere should be pictures of past and present teachers and students i was once a student there and would like to see some popular faces mr.o'neill would be a good 1
The site is good, but some more pictures could be a good idea. I understand the wish to be 'minimalist', so a section could be added with pictures of past and current students, teachers and maybe before and after pictures of the school building after the major refurbishment? :)

yr 7 woz good especcialy at the end of the year when we went on trips some good lessons as well im goin in 2 yr 8 new yr 7's will love school mr adair is amazing as my head of year

st.Johns is loads better than my primary cause there is more to expirience i have only been for two induction days but already i think i am going to love st.johns. i love the way you get different teachers for each lesson and different classroomsi love change and cant wait to start in septeber. St.johns rocks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
year 7 last year was great we made friends quikly n enjoyed our tym in yr 7 this yr we r movin 2 yr 8 n hope 2 hav an even beter yr we thank mr.adair for bein a fab head of yr in yr 7 n glad to hav u up until yr 9 mr.adair rawk on :)
