SAM Learning

SAM Learning is now available in school. The service, which is accessible to all staff and students, covers a wide range of subjects across the curriculum and can be used both in school and at home. Students can log in and complete interactive tests, exam practice questions and exam papers, while staff can assign homework and monitor students’ progress. SAM has a proven track record: studies have shown that using the service leads to better exam results.

The new DCSF APP initiative dictates that all teachers will soon be tasked with providing a professional judgement about the progress of their students. Work at SAM Learning is currently underway to match our content to APP assessment focuses. This will enable teachers to use the SAM Learning service to periodically gather evidence through a detailed reporting function. As well as being able to monitor individual students, there are also monthly reports that allow staff to build up an accurate picture of usage patterns among their students.

SAM Learning, an online service available to all staff, will help you with targeting specific groups of pupils. Using SAM enables you to easily identify and monitor discrete groups of students in the short and long term. Attention can be paid to students who are supported learners, gifted and talented, and ESL.

SAM Learning offers a wealth of content to help you with improving your students’ learning. If you want to focus on specific learning objectives you can assign homework tasks that include revision exercises, exam questions practice and past papers. With a proven track record in improving exam results and with no additional marking required, it is a good way to prepare your students for their examinations.
