St John's Horticulture group are officially... Outstanding...
Stand aside  Alan Titchmarsh! Make way, Monty Don... There's a new breed of Horticulturists in town, as for the first time in our school's history, St John's has become the proud recipient of a Royal Horticulture Society's prestigious Outstanding Award!

Each year in September we celebrate our sporting achievements of the previous academic year. This year Mr Rhodes came back as the guest speaker and spoke passionately about his experiences in various roles in sport.  During the first half of the evening we celebrated students achieving their half and full colours for dedication and performance within their sports. Over 150 students attended this fantastic evening.

On Thursday 8th October 2015 St John’s received an exciting invitation to attend a rugby training session held by the New Zealand All Blacks at Mowden Park Stadium. Twelve students from across five year groups attended the event and received expert coaching from players such as Sonny Bill Williams, Jerome Kaino and Brodie Retallick.

On Tuesday 6th October, 30 year 7s travelled to the Nissan production plant in Washington to see the Nissan Leaf being made. The electric car was on the production line and for the first part of the morning students were given a tour of the workshop floor. We got to see many parts of the production process including windscreens being fitted by robots, brake testing and checking the finished cars for being waterproof in a giant carwash.
