SEND Overview

“I have called you by your name, you are mine”

St John’s is committed to the equal inclusion of all students in all aspects of school life. Through living out our Gospel Values, we hold each child’s unique potential as being of the utmost importance, irrespective of their culture, gender or ethnicity.  We celebrate the diverse and individual needs of all of our students and take the additional support required by those children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) extremely seriously.

We recognise that all students are entitled to a quality of provision which will enable them to achieve their potential and enjoy life as a full member of this vibrant faith and learning community.

We use positive intervention to remove the barriers to learning that students may face.  We aim to raise expectations and levels of achievement by working in partnership with other professionals both within school (such as the Learning Mentors, Learning Support Assistants and the Student Welfare Team) and where appropriate, with outside agencies in order to provide a positive educational experience for all our students with SEND.
